We elected to rise early on Monday morning for a drive through the game reserve to hopefully see some different animals. Or even some more of the same since we'd had such success the day before. Most of us requested wake up calls from the front desk as a back up to setting our alarms. Not one room got a call at the time it was requested - the true definition of Africa time. The best conversation had to be Gail's.
Operator: "Good morning, this is your wake up call. It's 4:50."
Gail: "But I asked for a call at 4:30."
Operator: "It's 4:50." *click*
Everyone managed to get themselves up and into the truck, we requested Peter as our ranger guide again.

We were spoiled and once again had a very successful drive. We even spotted more lions! They were doing what lions do, just lying about. In the gorgeous early morning light we were spoiled to see families of animals getting ready for their day. Prey animals chase their babies about as training to run with the herd if necessary to get away from a predator. Adult males would play-fight with each other. All this made for a great experience!

Animals we got to see that we hadn't seen the day before included black-backed jackal, hippos (in the water, naturally) and crocodile.

After such an early start, we elected to spend the rest of the day at leisure - some at the pool, others playing games, one of us blogging her little heart out.
