Snow in Cape Town!

This is exceptional!  I've never heard of such a thing - there has been snow in Cape Town over the last few days, along with heavy rains, hail and gale-force winds resulting in rough seas for fisherman and surfers.  In the city center the streets are littered with hail, strongly resembling snow.  Roads have been closed due to rockfalls and mud slides, including Chapman's Peak and Franschhoek Pass.

Judging by the sandals and bare legs I would say this was very unexpected weather!
